Operator Properties

The following picture shows the Manage Operators window.  You use this window to create Operators that are then added to Alert Lists.  Alert Lists are assigned to Operations on the Operation Properties window.  When an Operation is run, the Executive server will determine whether or not Operators need to be notified.  You can click on "hot spot" areas in the pictures below to get detailed information about buttons, controls and fields.

Operator Properties (Email tab)

Name

Identifies the name of an object in the SmartBatch database. This can be up to 32 characters in any combination used to uniquely identify the object.

Notify by

EMail Address

The EMail address associated with the Operator. This must be a valid addressable SMTP address.

Alternate Email Address

An alternate email address to be used for the Operator. This can be used to notify the Operator at another email address other than the primary address specified in the Email Address field. This must be a valid addressable SMTP address.

HTML Option

Tells the Notification Server if the Operator should be sent an HTML- formatted message. If the checkbox is not selected, the format is ASCII text.

Notify hours

Check the days that the Operator can be notified and set the time of the day the Operator is available.

Enabled

Enabled indicates if the object will be processed by the Executive or Notification Servers. Normally all objects are Enabled (that is, checked or set to Yes). However, if you wish to configure an object and not have it processed you can clear the Enabled check box.

For example: If you configure a Schedule and clear the Enabled check box, the Executive Server will not process any of the objects that use the Schedule even if the individual objects are Enabled. If you disable an Operator, the Operator will not receive Notification messages.
