Registering SmartBatch

You must register SmartBatch to have the ability to use the product after the evaluation (e.g., demo or trial) period has expired.  You register using the Register.exe program provided in the bin directory where SmartBatch is installed.  This is also available from the Register menu in the Administrator.  The Register program contacts a web service to determine if you are authorized to obtain a license file.  A Support Id and Password is required entry.  If you do not have a Support Id and Password, contact your software vendor or reseller to obtain this information.

When you click on the Registration button on Connect window or select the Register menu item in the SmartBatch Administrator the Register window is displayed.  The following picture shows the Register window.  You can click on "hot spot" areas in each picture below to get detailed information about buttons, controls and fields.

Company Name

The name of the company that has licensed SmartBatch 2009 or the name of the company where you work.

Support ID

Enter the value provided to you from the download email. This is sent to the email address you specified when you downloaded the evaluation. If you did not receive this email, contact support@onlinetoolworks.com. You will have 30 days to evaluate the product.

If you have purchased the product, enter the Support ID provided to you.

Password

Enter the value provided to you from the download email. This is sent to the email address you specified when you downloaded the evaluation. If you did not receive this email, contact support@onlinetoolworks.com.

If you have purchased the product, enter the password provided to you that is associated with the Support ID.

Contact Name

The primary contact at your company responsible for administering SmartBatch 2009 licenses. This is typically a technical contact person.

Contact Email

The email address associated with the contact person.

Contact Phone

The phone number associated with the contact person.

Computer

The name of the computer where the licensed component of SmartBatch 2009 will run. The value is filled in for the computer where the Register.exe program is run. Typically, you will not need to change this value.

Product Name

The name of the product being registered (e.g., SmartBatch 2009, SmartBatch 2009 Remote Agent). This value will be filled in and does not need to be changed.

Product Edition

Must contain either Free, Lite, Standard or Enterprise.

SmartBatch must be licensed for each computer.   You will obtain access to the owners' area after you have purchased SmartBatch.  If you have purchased SmartBatch and your are unable to access the owners' area, please contact OnLine ToolWorks Corporation for assistance.

Note:  The Free Edition of SmartBatch must be registered but there is no cost to the registration.  Simply select the Free entry from the Product Edition drop down shown above, enter the required information and click the Register button.  The Free Edition is limited in the number of Operations that can be setup (20).  To use the Lite, Standard or Enterprise Editions of SmartBatch you must purchase a license for each computer where they are installed.
