Status List

The Status list shows the status of Operations, Steps and Jobs that are currently scheduled to execute and their status. There are several things you can do on the Status list to monitor and control processing by the Executive Server.  This includes Execute, Hold, Resume and Removing objects.

Viewing Status Information

The following picture shows the Status list. You can click on "hot spot" areas in the picture below to get detailed information about buttons, controls and fields.

Determining Status

The Status list view displays the change in Status for the object as the Executive Server identifies and processes requests. The Status display will automatically update when the Status changes.  The Administrator queries the Executive Server to determine if changes have occurred.  If changes are detected, the Administrator will refresh the Status list.

CreateProcess Errors

An object with a CreateProcess error has an error code associated with the failure. The error code indicates the reason for the failure.  In most cases this error code and description is listed in the Detail column.  You may need to refer to Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) documentation for more detailed information or contact OnLine ToolWorks Corporation.

Status Detail

The detail of any item in the Status list can be obtained by double-clicking on the line.  A dialog will be displayed showing the detailed status information.

To display Status Detail:

1.Double-click on a line in the status that you want the detail to be displayed.

Execute on Demand

To Execute an object on demand:

1.Right-click on the row with the object you want to Execute.

2.Select the Execute menu item.

Place on Hold

An item placed on hold will not continue to execute.  The Executive Server will attempt to suspend the underlying process of an Operation.

To place an item on hold:

1.Right-click on the row with the object you want to place on hold.

2.Select the Hold menu item.

Resume from Hold

To resume an object that was previously placed on hold:

1.Right-click on the row with the object you want to Resume.

2.Select the Execute menu item.

Remove from Status

To remove an object that exists in the Status list:

1.Right-click on the row with the object you want to Remove.

2.Select the Remove menu item.

Notes:

An object removed from Status can reappear into the Status if its schedule date and time has not yet recurred.  If you do not want the item Status, you need to disabled the time first by unchecking the enabled checkbox for the object on the associated properties window and then remove the object from the Status.

If the object is in the running status when you select to remove it, an attempt will be made to stop the processes associated with the object.

Resuming Objects

If the Object is in the Hold, Pending, Waiting or Error state it can be resumed. This will cause the Executive Server to start processing the object.
