| SmartBatch32 Administrator | The SmartBatch32 Administrator is the client or the graphical user interface for SmartBatch32. It allows users to configure programs, .bat files, and scripts into SmartBatch32. Although additional SmartBatch32 Administrators can be licensed so that users can configure SmartBatch32 from remote workstations, it is not a stand-alone product. |
| Executive Server | The Executive Server is the module of SmartBatch32 that actually invokes Operations, Steps, and Jobs accordingly to the schedules. It handles sequencing, dependencies, parameters, error detection, and recovery. |
| Remote Agent | The Remote Agent is available only for the Enterprise Edition. It is placed on each remote NT or 95 computer system where Operations will actually run. When the Executive Server identifies that an Operation should run, it will send a message to the Remote Agent on the remote computer system. The Remote Agent will then execute and monitor the Operation. The Remote Agent will send back to the Executive Server. |
| Notification Server | The Notification Server is the module of SmartBatch32 that processes all notification of events to on-call operators. |
| Operations | Operations are program, .bat files, and various scripts that are configured in SmartBatch32. Operations can be assigned schedules, parameters, exit information, and on error processing. |
| Steps | Operations can optionally be grouped into Steps to support related processing and complex environments. Steps can be assigned schedules, parameters, and dependencies. |
| Jobs | Steps can optionally be grouped into Jobs to further support complex environments. Jobs can be assigned schedules, parameters, and dependencies. |
