Computer Group Properties

The following picture shows the Computer Group Properties window.  You can click on "hot spot" areas in each picture below to get detailed information about buttons, controls and fields.

Group Name

Identifies the name of an object in the SmartBatch 2009 database. This can be up to 32 characters in any combination used to uniquely identify the object.

Description

The description associated with the object name. This can be up to 64 characters in any combination used to describe the object.

Group Type

Select one of the Computer Group Type items from the drop down. The types and their meaning are listed in the Computer Group Properties topic.

Computer Group tab

Domain Name

The name of a Windows Domain from which you want to retrieve a list of computers.

List Computers

Causes the computers that exist in the Domain Name field to be listed. Listing the computer names can take an indeterminate amount of time depending on the network response from the domain.

Computers

A list of computers in the Domain Name specified.

Computers In Group

Lists the computers that are part of the Computer Group. If the computer entry in the list is checked (i.e., enabled), the computer will be selected for processing by the Executive Server. When and how the computer gets selected for processing depends on the type of Computer Group.

Add Computer button

Uses this button to display a dialog that allows you to input a computer name.

Max Operations

Available for the Round Robin Computer Group. This value limits the number of Operations that can be run on a computer. Select the computer in the list and enter the value for Max Operations. A value of 0 (zero) indicates that there is no limit to the number of Operations that can run on the computer. 0 is the default value.
